Dear Friends of Foster Children,
As you may have seen in the news FEMA and DCF are using John Prince Park for hurricane disaster relief efforts. For the past two days, thousands of Palm Beach County residents have been lining up to receive aid.
We have been working diligently with the Palm Beach County Parks Department and Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office to try to ensure that our event was held as scheduled. Unfortunately, the amount of people in the park is overwhelming with over 4000 expected Saturday and safety has become a very real concern.
As the safety of our supporters, children and families is our number one priority, our Board of Directors has decided to reschedule the Superhero 5K & Family Fun Day. We are in the process of coordinating and securing another date and will follow up with details as soon as possible.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your support and understanding of the unique situation we are in. Our staff is here to answer any questions and/or concerns you may have. Please direct all emails to Alana St John our Director of Development at [email protected]
Our Superhero 5K & Family Fun Day is intended to be 5K run AND a day for children and families to enjoy, while bringing awareness to the mission of Friends of Foster Children.
Your support makes a difference in the lives of children like Lamar, who is 5 years old and has been in care for 30 months; Josline, who is 12 years and has been in care for 58 months; and Lila, who is under one year and has been in care for 4 months.
On behalf of all the children we serve – thank you!
Friends of Foster Children Board of Directors
